We’re partnering with a school district in Lake County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year.

The Special Education Resource Teacher will provide specialized academic support to 4th and 5th grade students through a combination of push-in and pull-out services. The educator will deliver targeted interventions in reading, math, writing, and executive functioning while collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to foster student success. The ideal candidate is student-centered, collaborative, and experienced in providing resource-level instruction.

Position Details

• Position: Special Education Resource Teacher

• Location: In-person, Lake County, IL

• Hours: Full-time, standard school day hours

• Schedule: Monday–Friday

• School Year: 2025–2026

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in small-group and individualized settings in alignment with IEP goals.

• Deliver push-in support within general education classrooms to promote inclusion.

• Develop and implement IEPs, progress monitor, and maintain compliance documentation.

• Adapt curriculum, materials, and assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support academic and social-emotional success.

• Implement behavior supports and evidence-based intervention strategies as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Special Education endorsement (required).

• Experience in resource or inclusion settings preferred.

• Strong understanding of IEP processes, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring.

• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

• Commitment to supporting diverse learners and fostering an inclusive school community.
