Position Overview
Onward Search Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support Grade 7 students in a resource room (pull-out) setting at a middle school in Middlesex County, MA. In this model, students receive targeted specialized instruction in specific skill areas for part of the day and spend the remainder of their schedule in general education classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and/or 1:1 specialized instruction aligned to IEP goals
- Deliver targeted interventions and skill-building support (academic and/or social/emotional as appropriate)
- Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and accommodations/modifications
- Maintain service documentation and monitor student progress with data-informed instruction
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school-based teams
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP development, updates, and communication with families as needed
Qualifications
- Massachusetts Special Education licensure/certification (or eligibility) preferred
- Experience working with middle school students strongly preferred
- Comfort working in a resource room/pull-out instructional model
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
