Onward Search is a leading education staffing agency committed to connecting top talent with school districts across the country. We are currently seeking a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join a school district in Wheaton, IL for the 2025–2026 school year. In this full-time role, you'll provide speech-language therapy services that support students' academic and social success.

Location: Wheaton, IL
Start Date: Mid August 2025
End Date: Late December 2025
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday during school hours
Grade Levels: Early Childhood

Opportunity Overview:

Work within a supportive and collaborative school environment where your expertise will directly impact student growth and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and re-evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary evaluation team, with a focus on early childhood development and eligibility determination.

  • Utilize play-based and developmentally appropriate assessment tools and strategies to accurately evaluate communication skills in young learners.

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address each child’s unique speech and language needs, in alignment with IDEA and district standards.

  • Provide direct therapy services and consultative support within a variety of early childhood settings, including inclusion classrooms, specialized programs, and small-group environments.

  • Collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and families to support students’ communication goals across home and school environments.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluation reports, progress notes, and IEP updates, in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.

  • Participate actively in team meetings, family conferences, and professional development focused on early intervention and best practices in early childhood communication support.

Qualifications:

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong Clinical Fellows (CFs) may also be considered

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Demonstrated experience in early childhood settings, with a solid understanding of early developmental milestones

  • Proficiency in conducting play-based and developmentally appropriate assessments for young children
