Onward Search Education is seeking a compassionate and skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a school-based role during the 2025–2026 academic year. This educator will play a vital role in supporting students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have hearing loss, ensuring equitable access to curriculum and opportunities for academic and social success.

Position Overview:
As a DHH Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support tailored to each student’s communication needs. You’ll work closely with students across various grade levels to help develop their language, communication, academic, and social-emotional skills in alignment with IEP goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Adapt general education curriculum to meet each student’s communication and access needs
  • Utilize sign language, oral communication strategies, or assistive technology, depending on the student’s communication mode
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, families, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP development and meetings, ensuring services align with student goals
  • Monitor and document student progress consistently

Qualifications:
  • Valid state teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience working with K–12 students with hearing loss
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred or required, depending on district
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and accommodations for DHH students
