School Social Worker (PK–3rd Grade) – McHenry County, IL

We’re partnering with a school district in McHenry County, Illinois to hire dedicated School Social Workers for the 2025–2026 school year. This role will support PK–3rd grade students, focusing on promoting emotional, behavioral, and academic success in a collaborative school environment.

As a School Social Worker, you’ll play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning by providing social-emotional support, counseling, and resources that foster well-being and school engagement.

Position Details:
Location: In-person, McHenry County, IL
Schedule: Full-time; School Hours
School Year: 2025–2026
End Date: May 22, 2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ emotional and behavioral development.

• Develop and implement social-emotional learning and behavior intervention strategies.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify and address student needs.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP development and implementation.

• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community mental health agencies.

• Maintain accurate documentation and reports in compliance with district and state requirements.

Qualifications:

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement required.

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.

• Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practices, and school-based interventions.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

• Experience working with PK–3rd grade students preferred.
