We’re currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join a collaborative academic team in Hartford County, CT. This is a full-time, in-person role supporting a 4th grade student with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide meaningful 1:1 support to a student using individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies in a structured and supportive learning environment.

Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) support strategies is required for this role.

Position Details:

• Location: In-person (no virtual or hybrid options)

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, full school day schedule

• Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 40

• Grade Level: 4th grade (1:1 support for a single student)

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a 4th grade student, assisting with emotional regulation and behavior management using individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies.

• Implement the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and collect data to track progress.

• Assist the student in developing social and communication skills, including conflict resolution.

• Support the student during classroom activities, transitions, and learning tasks.

• Collaborate with teachers, behavior teams, and support staff to ensure consistent, individualized support.

• Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive behavior and learning.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED and at least two years of study at a higher education institution, at the Associate's level or higher, OR

• A passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment.

• Knowledge of and experience utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis strategies.

• Experience supporting students with disabilities in an academic setting. Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
