We’re partnering with a school district in Hillsdale County, Michigan to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time, in-person position supporting students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative school setting.

The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring access to the general education curriculum and promoting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. The ideal candidate will develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages every student to achieve success.

Position Details

• Position: Special Education Teacher

• Location: In-person, Hillsdale County, MI

• Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (standard school hours)

• School Year: 2025–2026
• Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.

• Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, and functional skill areas.

• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to support inclusion and student progress.

• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations.

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student goals, progress, and support plans.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement (required).

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.

• Knowledge of IEP development, data collection, and progress monitoring.

• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
