We’re partnering with Clawson Public Schools in Oakland County, Michigan to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. The district is especially interested in applicants who hold an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement, which demonstrates specialized training and experience in supporting students with ASD.

The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities, fostering their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. The ideal candidate will design and implement effective IEPs, collaborate with general education staff, and create a supportive classroom environment. Applicants with an ASD endorsement will play a vital role in developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to support students on the autism spectrum.

Position Details

• Location: In-person, Clawson Public Schools – Oakland County, MI

• Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (typical school hours)

• School Year: 2025–2026

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals.

• Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support tailored to individual learning needs.

• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to promote inclusion.

• Use data to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

• Implement evidence-based strategies and supports, especially for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress and collaborate on student success.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement (required).

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement strongly preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required); Master’s preferred.

• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and data-driven instruction.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
