We’re partnering with a school district in DuPage County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher for Field Elementary School in Elmhurst, IL. This in-person position is a Leave of Absence (LOA) coverage, beginning ASAP and running through approximately February 5th, 2026.

The Resource Teacher will provide individualized and small-group support to students in grades 1, 3, and 4, focusing on executive functioning, reading, writing, and math skills. This role combines push-in and pull-out instructional services designed to meet students’ IEP goals while collaborating closely with classroom teachers and support staff. The ideal candidate is an organized, flexible, and compassionate educator with strong communication skills and experience in inclusive education settings.

Position Details

  • Position: Special Education Resource Teacher

  • Location: In-person, Field Elementary School – Elmhurst, IL (DuPage County)

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • End Date: Estimated February 5th, 2026 (Leave of Absence coverage)

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM (includes 30-minute paid lunch)

  • Caseload: Approximately 15 students

  • Grade Levels: 1st (currently one student), 3rd, and 4th grade

  • Service Model: Combination of push-in and pull-out instruction

  • School Year: 2025–2026

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct academic instruction and intervention in small-group and individual settings.

  • Deliver push-in classroom support for inclusion students across core academic subjects.

  • Develop and implement IEP goals and progress monitoring aligned with student needs.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to support student learning and engagement.

  • Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.

  • Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and IEP documentation in compliance with state and district requirements.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 certification (required).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience providing push-in and pull-out instruction at the elementary level preferred.

  • Strong skills in literacy and math intervention, executive functioning support, and IEP goal tracking.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
