We're partnering with an excellent school district in Norfolk County, MA, to hire a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for November 2025 – June 2026.

We’re seeking a dedicated DHH teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across various educational settings. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about accessibility, communication support, and empowering students to thrive academically and socially.

Position Details:

Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
Location: Norfolk County, MA
Caseload: Approximately 6 students
Assignment Dates: November 2025 – June 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Part-time Hours

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in general education and special education environments.

  • Develop and implement IEP goals focused on communication skills, auditory training, language development, and academic access.

  • Adapt curriculum and materials to meet students’ communication and auditory needs.

  • Collaborate with audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and school teams to ensure full access to instruction.

  • Support the use of assistive listening devices such as hearing aids, FM/DM systems, and sound-field amplification.

  • Provide consultation to classroom teachers and staff on effective strategies for supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

  • Facilitate communication access, which may include various modalities depending on student needs (spoken language, ASL, total communication, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts DESE licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including use of communication modalities such as ASL, spoken language, or total communication.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school teams.
