The Special Education Teacher provides individualized academic and behavioral support to early elementary students, ensuring access to instruction aligned with IEP goals. This role supports foundational learning, social development, and inclusive practices within the school community.

Position Details: Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 2026
Schedule: 9:00am - 3:30pm, M-F
Grade Levels: Grades 1st-2nd
Location: In Person, 30 hours per week
School Year: 2025/2026

Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications in collaboration with general education teachers and related service providers. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of early elementary learners. Collect and analyze student progress data to inform instruction and support student growth. Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. Maintain clear and consistent communication with families, staff, and administrators. Create a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and early skill development.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required. Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license or eligibility required. Experience working with elementary-aged students with a range of disabilities preferred. Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring. Knowledge of early childhood and elementary instructional strategies and behavior supports. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to inclusive practices and supporting diverse learners.
