The district has a wide range of openings across elementary and high school settings, including resource room, cross-categorical, early intervention, and classroom-specific endorsements.

Special Education Teachers will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a variety of special education service models. Educators may serve in resource room programs, self-contained classrooms, early childhood special education, or consultative roles. Teachers will collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student success through high-quality instruction, IEP implementation, and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, functional, and life skills areas.

• Support students through resource room, self-contained, or consultative service delivery models.

• Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusion and differentiated instruction.

• Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavioral supports as needed.

• Track student progress through data collection, documentation, and compliance with IDEA requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with appropriate Special Education endorsement (required).

• Endorsements in Autism, Cognitive Impairment, Emotional Impairment, Early Childhood, or Cross-Categorical strongly preferred depending on assignment.

• Experience in school-based special education settings preferred.

• Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and instructional accommodations.

• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
