We’re partnering with a school in Middlesex County, Connecticut to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher.
Special Education Teachers support students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction, implementing IEP goals, and collaborating with school teams to ensure every student receives the support necessary for academic and social success. This role plays a critical part in fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Position Details:

• Start/End Date: ASAP through the end of the school year
• Schedule: Full-time
• Grade Levels: Grades 7–9
• Location: In Person, 35 hours
• School Year: 2025/2026

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Provide specialized instruction in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to support diverse learning styles
• Track and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred, depending on district requirements)
• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching Certification
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance
• Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Ability to modify curriculum, accommodations, and behavior supports based on student needs
