We’re partnering with a school in Worcester County, MA to hire dedicated Special Education Teacher.

The Special Education Teacher will support students in a substantially separate social-emotional and behavioral program, providing structured, individualized instruction to help students build academic, behavioral, and emotional regulation skills. This role plays a critical part in fostering a safe, supportive learning environment that promotes student growth, stability, and successful reintegration when appropriate.

Position Details:
Start Date: April 2, 2026
End Date: June 22, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week
Grade Levels: K–12
Location: In Person
School Year: 2025/2026

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specially designed instruction in a substantially separate classroom setting aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Implement behavior support plans and social-emotional learning strategies to address emotional regulation, coping skills, and positive behavior development.
  • Create a structured, predictable classroom environment that supports students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Collect and monitor data on academic and behavioral progress to inform instruction and IEP goal adjustments.
  • Collaborate with school psychologists, counselors, behavior specialists, and related service providers to support student success.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, behavior, and instructional strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws, documentation requirements, and district policies.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license or eligibility required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, social-emotional learning frameworks, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and supportive in a highly structured learning environment.
