We are partnering with a school district in Cook County, IL to hire a Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Life Skills Classroom) for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time role working with kindergarten and 1st grade students.

Position Details:

• Location: Cook County, IL
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: June 5, 2026
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:55 AM – 2:55 PM (some Mondays until 3:55 PM); 30-minute duty-free lunch
• Grade Level: Kindergarten–1st Grade
• Hours: Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Lead classroom activities based on individual student needs.
• Deliver direct instruction curriculum in individualized and small group settings.
• Manage schedules of all students in the classroom for inclusion time in their general education classrooms.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and manage classroom behaviors for effective classroom organization and participation.
• Collaborate with related service providers to implement accommodations, modifications, and goal work throughout the week.
• Manage classroom Educational Support Professional schedules and direct them in their work with students.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Special Education LBS1 certification required.
• Experience in self-contained life skills classrooms preferred.
• Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills.
