We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a supportive school district in Elbert County, CO for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time, in-person opportunity.
In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the individual needs of students who are blind or visually impaired, helping them succeed academically and develop greater independence.
CDE TVI license and Braille certification are required.
Position Details:

Location: Elbert County, CO (in-person; hybrid considered)

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours per week

Grade Levels: 5th
Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Responsibilities:
-
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
-
Teach students strategies for accessing the curriculum, including braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to create an inclusive learning environment.

Conduct assessments to track students' progress and adjust instruction as needed.

Provide support for social and emotional well-being, and promote independence in daily activities.

Ensure students are equipped with skills for self-advocacy and independence.
Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or related field.
-
Special Education Specialist.
-
Experience with braille and assistive technologies for visually impaired students.

A passion for empowering visually impaired students and fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
