We’re partnering with a school district in Lake County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year.
The Special Education Resource Teacher will provide specialized academic support to early childhood students through a combination of push-in and pull-out services. The teacher will develop and implement IEPs, deliver targeted interventions, collaborate with general education teachers and service providers, and support student progress through data-driven instruction and consistent communication with stakeholders.

Position Details

• Position: Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
• Location: In-person, Lake County, IL
• Hours/Schedule:
  • Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

• Provide specialized instruction and interventions in small-group and individualized settings aligned to IEP goals.
• Deliver push-in support within general education classrooms to promote inclusion and access to core instruction.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, including progress monitoring and data collection.
• Differentiate instruction and provide accommodations/modifications to support diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student growth.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA, state guidelines, and district procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (required).
• Experience in early childhood preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to student-centered, inclusive practices and equitable access to learning.
