The Special Education Teacher provides individualized instruction and support to middle school students with diverse learning needs, ensuring access to the curriculum and progress toward IEP goals. This role supports academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and inclusive practices across the school community.

Position Details: Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time hours
Grade Levels: Middle School, 6th–8th grades
Location: In Person, 40 hours per week
School Year: 2025/2026

Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction aligned to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications in collaboration with general education teachers and related service providers. Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Collect and analyze data to track student progress and inform instructional decisions. Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. Maintain consistent communication with families, staff, and administrators to support student success. Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and independence.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required. Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license or eligibility required. Experience working with middle school students and a range of disabilities preferred. Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families. Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
