The Special Education Teacher supports students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and collaborating with school staff and families to promote academic, social, and emotional growth within the school community.


Position Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: June 2026
• Schedule: 7:40 am - 2:45 pm
• Grade Levels: 9-12
• Location: In Person, 35 hours per week
• School Year: 2025/2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Adapt curriculum, materials, and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Support positive behavior strategies and inclusive practices within the classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teacher license or eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with secondary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, special education law, and best instructional practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to create a supportive, structured, and student-centered learning environment.
