We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for full time positions this school year at a school in Cook County, Illinois.

Details You Should Know:

  • Location: In-person (no virtual or hybrid option)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:05 am - 3:15 pm
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 32.5 hours
  • Start Date: August 11, 2025
  • End Date: May 23, 2026
  • Caseload: True Self Contained Classroom:
    A separate classroom within a school with students with moderate to severe disabilities who benefit from a more controlled and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide instruction in a variety of settings, including small group and one-on-one instruction.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Manage classroom behavior and provide a positive, supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress with parents and school administrators.
  • Attend and participate in meetings related to students' education, including IEP meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement & LBS1
