We’re partnering with a school district in Cook County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Middle School Special Education Teacher.

This full-time, in-person role supports middle school students with social-emotional and behavioral needs in a structured, supportive classroom environment. You’ll work directly with students, providing individualized instruction, implementing IEP goals, and collaborating with educators and families to help students succeed academically and socially.

Position Details:

• Location: In-person, Cook County, IL

• Hours: 8:15 AM – 3:40 PM

• Caseload: 12–15 students

• Grade Level: Middle School

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-time

• School Year: January 2026 – May 2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in a self-contained or specialized classroom for students with social-emotional and behavioral needs

• Implement IEP goals and behavior intervention plans

• Support students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development

• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff

• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings

• Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Special Education teaching certification (LBS1 required)

• Experience working with middle school students preferred

• Background supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs

• Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
